Hii visits SEGi Faculty of Medicine Campus
SIBU: SEGi Group managing director cum founder of SEGI Colleges & University Tan Sri Clement Hii recently visited the SEGi Faculty of Medicine Campus at Sibu Hospital here.
It was his first visit to the campus since its opening in 2014.
Associate Dean Professor Dr Mohd Raili Suhaili, Sibu Hosiptal director Dr Ngian Hie Ung, lecturers, non-academic staff and exco members of the Medical Students Society were there to welcome him.
Speaking at the occasion, Hii emphasised the importance of good communication skill in all aspects of life.
“More so for doctors so that patient’s care is not jeopardised as a result of poor communication.
“Hopefully, all SEGi graduates are well equipped with good communication skill,” he said.
SEGi Faculty of Medicine which offers a 5-year MBBS programme, was established in 2011.

T he facilities available at the Clinical Campus include lecture halls, library, computer lab, clinical skill wards and research lab.
Clinical programmeis conducted at its Clinical Campus located at Sibu Hospital.
Teaching hospitals include Sibu Hospital and Sarikei Hospital.
Hii said students are also sent to various health clinics in Sibu for training.
“They are also involved in outreach programme in villages and longhouses. Besides academic activities, students are very active in extra- curricular activities and community based programmes,” he noted.
The first batch graduated in 2016. Two more batches have since graduated, putting the total number of graduates at 193.
The fourth batch of 63 students will sit for the final professional examination in December.
All the graduates from the first and second batches have been posted to various hospitals in the country, Hii disclosed.
The student population at Sibu Clinical Campus now stands at 246, including 30 international students from Kenya, Syria, , Bangladesh, Gambia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Libya, Mauritius, Mynmmar, Sr Lanka, Thailand, Afghanistan, Canada, Egypt and Nigeria.
