Spare some time on polling day on May 9 to come out and vote for Barisan Nasional. I pledge to continue the work left behind by our former MP Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos, in order to achieve fair and balanced development in all parts of this constituency.

KUCHING: Barisan Nasional ( BN) candidate for Puncak Borneo, Jeannoth Sinel, pledged there would be fair and balanced distribution of development in this constituency if he is elected as its new member of parliament on May 9.

Thanking the previous MP Datuk Seri Dr James Dawos Mamit for his services and contributions to Puncak Borneo, Jeannoth - the new face fielded by BN - said he will continue the good work and struggle left behind by Dawos.

Puncak Borneo is a big constituency stretching from some parts of Bau district to Siburan and Annah Rais up to some parts of Serian district comprising three state seats — Serembu, Mambong and Tarat.

fair and balanced development in all parts of this constituency,” he said at the launch of BN joint campaign machinery for Mambong at Kampung Mambong on Wednesday night.

The launch was officiated by BN director of operations for Puncak Borneo, Dato Sri Michael Manyin Jawong, who symbolically handed over the BN flag to Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.

Also present were Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, a political secretary to the chief minister John David Nyauh and leaders of BN components branches and divisions in Mambong.

Meanwhile, Dr Jerip who spoke earlier said the launch of the joint BN campaign machinery is a significant step to ensure victory for BN in Puncak Borneo.

With this joint machinery, he said the respective election machinery of BN components in Mambong would be more focused on working together.

“Whatever misunderstanding or past problems that we have, let us forget it for now and instead we all should move forward together.

“Let us work together for a single mission, that is to make sure BN retain this seat,” he said.

Manyin in his speech also urged voters in Puncak Borneo to vote for BN on May 9.

He said Puncak Borneo along with Mas Gading and Serian are three Bidayuh majority seats which must be retained by BN.

He also said it is important that these Bidayuh majority seats are among the many seats delivered by Sarawak BN in this 14th general election, in order to give Chief Minister and Sarawak BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg a bigger mandate when negotiating with Putrajaya.
