1Malaysia Clinic proposed at Upper Lanang Road in Sibu

SIBU: A 1Malaysia Clinic ( K1M) has been proposed to be built at Grand Height along the Upper Lanang Road here, says Dudong assemblyman Datuk Tiong Thai King.

Tiong, who is also Sibu Municipal Council ( SMC) chairman, disclosed that some corporate fi gures had been kind enough to sponsor the project, estimated to cost over RM300,000.

“We are in the process of getting an architect to come up with the plan. Hopefully, we could complete (the project by) end of the year. And if not, maybe around March next year, we can implement this project,” he told The Borneo Post recently.

Asked on the proposed site, he said it would be on an open space just next to Grand Height Market here. Tiong believed that upon completion, the medical facility would enable local residents and those from nearby areas to seek medical treatment for minor ailments more conveniently.

He added that it would be the 11th K1M here – the latest K1M at Campus Park in Wawasan Road here opened its doors recently.

The others are at Sungai Bidut, Rajang Park, Soon Hup Garden ( Permai), Salim Road ( FarleySentosa), Sibu Jaya New Township, Bandong Road ( Kampung Bandong), Rantau Panjang, Teku and Sibu Urban Transformation Centre ( UTC).
