‘Winged Beauties, Light and Dark’ exhibition at State Library
KUCHING: Sarawak State Library is inviting photography enthusiasts and members of the public to an exhibition displaying stunning images of wildlife and nature through the lens of two professional photographers, Nur Azimah Theresa Abdullah and Timothy Duesbury.
‘ Winged Beauties, Light and Dark’ exhibition is currently open for public viewing at the library’s Anjung Budi, Level 1, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak from 10.00am to 7.00pm on weekdays and from 9.00 am to 6.00pm on weekends until Feb 15. The library is closed on gazetted public holidays.
Nur Azimah Theresa Abdullah took up photography as a hobby five years ago and her fondness of birds can be seen from the images of the winged beauties she had collected from East and West Malaysia as well as parts of the UK, such as England and Scotland.
She spent much of the last two years in Peninsular Malaysia photographing birds and has experienced birding in the UK.
An experienced photographer who was born on the outskirts of the small city of Norwich, England, Timothy Duesbury is exhibiting his photographs that reflect his origins and nature.
According to Duesbury, he is also interested in light and darkness and how it affects what we are viewing. He has emphasised this aspect by giving some of his pictures a black border.
He is also exhibiting his photograph collection of the special view of Mount Santubong and some photographs of people he met during his visit to India.
Admission to the exhibition is free.
