-

KUALA LUMPUR: MercedesBenz Malaysia presents the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+, the most powerful E- Class of all time in conjunction with Mercedes-AMG 50th anniversary and the last Formula 1 race in Sepang,

The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ takes driving performance to entirely new heights with the new AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system and fully variable torque distribution. Delivering superior acceleration of 3.4 seconds from 0-100 km/ h, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine generates up to 450 kW ( 612 hp). This makes it the most powerful engine to have ever been installed in an E-Class.

The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ combines striking dynamic design in pursuit of maximum driving performance. Its expressive exterior featuring a new radiator grille and coupéstyle inset bonnet, 20-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, power domes on the inboard hood and flared wings underlines its performance figures.

“As the latest addition to the Mercedes-Benz Dream Car Collection, the E 63 S takes driving performance into a new level, offering our customers a striking design with an undisputed and refined power delivery of a V8 twin-turbo engine from Affalterbach,” Mercedes- Benz Malaysia Sales and marketing Vice president Mark Raine said in its press statement yesterday.

The latest generation E 63 S 4MATIC+ sees Mercedes-AMG introducing a number of new developments that redefine the performance limousine. Innovative powertrain engineering and maximum performance are combined with distinctive design, exclusive equipment and the latest infotainment features for comprehensive, connected multimedia applications.

Its interior features highly exclusive appointments with distinctive style for further personalisation. The sporty high- quality interior comprises of sports seats with optimised lateral support and AMG badge in the seat backrests, 3- spoke AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather with flattened bottom section as well as an AMG instrument cluster with AMG main menu including RACE TIMER and AMG start-up display.

Every detail of the exterior and interior is designed to enable AMG Driving Performance to be experienced at first hand. The expressive exterior design is all about sinuous edges and defined muscles. With a completely distinctive design forward of the A- pillar, the sporty front also demonstrates the effort that Mercedes AMG has put into the styling. For the first time on an AMG saloon, the bonnet is inset between the wings and bumper like on a coupé, thus exhibiting an entirely new, more dynamic approach to the sculpting.

More powerful-looking and 27 millimetres wider, the wheel arches accommodate the greater track width and the larger wheels on the front axle.

The new radiator grille with twin louvres in silver chrome, vertical black struts and “AMG” lettering likewise emphasises the distinctive look. A wide front apron inspired by the design of a jet wing, with flics in black and a large front splitter, impressively epitomises the power of the new models. It also showcases the sophisticated cooling technology – a typical feature from motorsport and another visual reference to the powerful engine. The two louvres in the outer cooling- air intakes also help in this regard, their targeted wing profile directing air to the wheel arch coolers.

Overall, the front section exudes exceptional power and thus conveys the strong forwards thrust of the new performance saloon at first glance.
