300 guests join Kapit police in 3-in-1 celebrator­y bash

KAPIT: Some 300 guests attended a ‘three-in-one’ celebrator­y dinner organised by the district police in conjunctio­n with Gawai Dayak, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, and the transfer of a police officer.

The ‘ Ngiling Bidai, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Jasamu Dikenang’ event was held at the Sri Baleh VIP Guesthouse, and saw political secretarie­s to the chief minister Tapah Ata and Nicholas Kudi Jantai as guests- of-honour.

District police chief DSP Freddy Bian explained that the function was a three-in-one activity to mark the end of Gawai Dayak, celebrate Hari Raya, and bid farewell to Inspector Fredly Juing.

Inspector Fredly Juing, who has been in charge of logistics at the district police headquarte­rs here for the past three years and seven months, has been tranferred to the Criminal Investigat­ion Department (CID) in Miri.

At the function, Kudi announced a government grant of RM7,000 from Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing to Kapit Police Family Associatio­n ( Perkep).

Tapah, on behalf of Bukit Goram assemblyma­n Jefferson Jamit Unyat, announced a RM5000 grant to Kapit Perkep.

Aside from senior district police officers and rank- and-file personnel, community leaders, heads of government department­s, officers from Kapit Resident Office and District Office, as well as members of the public, attended the event.
