- By Marshall Tiong

KUCHING: The second week of the TNB Sarawak Hockey League saw various group leaders making their case for the second round.

On the other hand, several teams on the wrong end of the score during Week 1 managed to right their ship.

In Group A, UNIXX HC bounced back from their loss to Warrior HC to defeat X-Boy.

UNIXX, led by Bukit Jalil grad Christnall Michael, fought back following Genesis Cotap’s field goal as early as the 4th minute.

Another 13mins later UNIXX equalized from Dais Sharamdan’s field goal.

That seemed to open the flood gates for UNIXX with playercoach Christnall giving them the lead four minutes from the break.

UNIXX sounded the board thrice upon resumption to eventually win handily 5-1.

With Warrior having a bye week as there are only three teams in the group, the two teams are now tied on points with Warrior having a game in hand.

In Group B, Excalibur HC kept up the pressure with a 20 victory, this time over SMK Bako who remain winless after two matches. Tasik Biru bounced back from a shutout loss to beat Greenian 3-1.

SEB HC and Belia Git HC kept pace with each other in Group C after playing to a 1-1 stalemate.

They each have a 1- 0-1 record with SEB having the better goal difference.

MatHoc A slumped to their second straight 1- 0 loss when BLHC’s Mohd Zulfadhli scored the only goal in the 19th min.

Flystick tightened their grip on Group D when they squeaked by KHC 3-2.

Mohd. Zulfadli broke the 2-2 deadlock at the break with a 47th minute field goal to give Flystick the win.

MTOB hammered MatHoc B 5- 0 for their first win.

In the women’s draw, HazicontAlldiv, 12- 0 winners on opening week, continued their rampage with a 7- 0 rout of SMK Bako.

Imelda Thomas and Janeter Kadir each had a brace of field goals.

Luctor Mix kept pace with a 8- 0 dismantling of Excalibur HC.
