Lingga assemblywo­man meets mosque committees, community leaders

SRI AMAN: Lingga assemblywo­man Simoi Peri held a meeting with management committees of mosque and surau across her constituen­cy, as well as community leaders and PBB Lingga branch chiefs here yesterday.

A key point under the agenda was on organising ‘solat berjemaah’ (mass prayers) and ‘majlis tahlil’ (remembranc­e for the departed) at all mosques and suraus in Lingga in honour of the state’s fifth chief minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who passed away on Jan 11.

The mosques and suraus involved are Masjid Besar Bandar Sri Aman, Masjid AlHana Kampung Lingga, Masjid Salatul Rahman of Kampung Stumbin, Masjid Nur Hijrah of Kampung Agropolita­n Seduku Baru, Masjid Darul Mua’limin of Kampung Maludam in Pusa, Masjid Al-Mujahiddin of Kampung Triso Maludam in Pusa, Surau Darul Falaq of Kampung Hulu Lingga, Surau Darul Islamiah of Kampung Hilir Lingga, Surau Riadhus Salihin of Kampung Pangkat Stumbin, Surau Riadhus Salihin of Kampung Pangkat Stumbin, Surau Kampung Skait in Stumbin, Surau Wadah Al-Ummah of Kampung Tanah Baru Sembau, Surau Kebahagian Kampung Hilir, Surau Hayatul Islam of Kampung Hulu, Surau Darul Islah of Kampung Hulu Maludam in Pusa, Surau Darul Ridzua of Kampung Selakang Pasar Maludam in Pusa, and Surau Al-Jariah of Kampung Hilir Maludam in Pusa.

Simoi said the ‘tahlil’ would be held on Jan 18, adding that she would also bear the costs involved in organising it.

Additional­ly, the meeting yesterday also touched on the village security and developmen­t committee (JKKK) programmes for the respective mosques and suraus.
