Apply for education incentive before Jan 31 closing date

MIRI: Members of Northern Sarawak Journalist­s Associatio­n (NSJA) who want to apply for the education incentive set up recently are encouraged to do so before its closing date on Jan 31.

President Thng Joo Hua revealed that the 2017 NSJA Education Fund is open to its members and their offspring who obtained excellent result in studies.

The incentive is open to 10 categories: Kindergart­en, Primary 1 to 5, Primary 6 (UPSR), Form 1 and 2, PT3 (Form 3), Form 4, SPM (Form 5), Form 6 (lower and upper level), STPM and university/college level.

Those eligible to receive the incentive are as follows: For Kindergart­en level, those who obtained top three places or with average marks of 85.

For Primary 1 and 2, those in top three places with an average of 75 marks or 5As.

For Primary 6, those who scored five As.

For Form 1 and 2, those in the top three places, or with an average of 75 marks and above.

For PT3, those with four As and above.

For higher secondary (Form 4 and 5), those in top three places, or an average of 75 marks and above.

For SPM, those with four As and above.

For Form 6 (lower and upper), those in top three places or obtained 3As and above.

For STPM, those with 3As and above.

For university or college, those who complete the course with certificat­es.

Thng reminded its members to pass a photocopy of their children’s report card, details and contact number to NSJA exco members for the record.

The newly establishe­d NSJA education fund was sponsored by Piasau Assemblyma­n Datuk Sebastian Ting who contribute­d RM5,000.
