Usher in the New Year at Meritz Hotel
MIRI: With 2016 coming to an end soon, it seems only right to make plans to celebrate the last day of the year with a scrumptious buffet and countdown party that should not be missed at the Meritz Hotel, Miri.
Grand Old Lady Restaurant is offering the ‘New Year’s Eve Buffet Dinner’ with mouth-watering arrays of delicacies that promise an unforgettable experience.
Start off the night with appetizers of Smoked Salmon with Mango, Sliced Spicy Beef with Garlic Salad and Fried Fish Roll with Blueberry Sauce topped with Citrus Salsa and pair the dishes with the soup of the night— oxtail soup or sea cucumber crab meat minced chicken soup—to quench your thirst.
Those who love live cooking, can get their choice of meat grilled à la minute at the open fire grill counter with meat selections such as squid, tiger prawn, chicken drumstick and lamb shoulder. They can also add on servings of traditional roasted Whole Turkey and Baked Red Snapper with Sweet Sour Sauce dripping with their choice of sauce from the carving station.
Other tasty selections include the Cheese Platter, Roasted Lamb with Honey Garlic Sauce, Poached Salmon Fillet Platter, Grilled Smoked Duck Breast and Capsicum Radish with Seafood Sauce, Seafood Terrine and Meat Loaf Terrine.
Patrons who love seafood will get to satisfy their seafood cravings at the Seafood on Ice corner with Half Shell Mussels, Tiger Prawns and Flower Crabs.
Aside from side dishes, main courses of Roasted Chicken with BBQ sauce, Seafood Stew with Sun- Dried Tomato and Pesto, Roasted Duck with Plum Sauce, Wok Fried Squid, Steamed Halibut Fish with Superior Soy Sauce and Wok Fried Soft Crab with Thai Sauce and Buddha’s Delight ( Lo Han Zai) are also available.
Finish up the meal with sweet desserts such as Butter Crumble Ginger Cake, Mixed Fruit Chocolate Pudding, Layered Berry Mousse, Chocolate Marshmallow, Apple Pie Crumble, Peach Tart and ice cream.
After a satisfying meal, patrons may make their way to Sky Garden Outdoor Dining to welcome the new year at the countdown party from 9.30pm onwards featuring a live band, photo booth and attractive lucky draw prizes to be won. Best Dress and Best Dance awards will also be given away
Tickets for the buffet dinner on Dec 30 are available at RM78 nett per adult and RM44 nett per child while tickets for the buffet dinner on Dec 31are priced at RM88 nett per adult and RM44 nett per child inclusive of door gift.
Patrons can top-up another RM30 nett for entry to the countdown party with one complimentary drink. Those who prefer to walk-in may do so with an entrance fee of RM58 nett with one complimentary drink.
