SUCCC pledges full support for new state govt

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) comprising 24 affiliate chambers, has pledged their full support for the new Sabah State Government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Mohd Noor.

Its president Tan Sri Andrew Liew said SUCCC was solidly behind Hajiji and the State Government in their effort to boost the State’s economy and combat Covid-19.

He said this in a press conference here yesterday.

Liew, who is also vice president of The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), said SUCCC played the role of enhancing the economy of the State and nation through its connection with ACCCIM and global organizati­ons.

On behalf of SUCCC, he congratula­ted Hajiji and the new State Cabinet and hoped that the team would lead Sabah to a new era.

Also present at the press conference were SUCCC secretary general cum Ranau Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Datuk Tham Yuk Leong , SUCCC assistant secretary general cum Putatan Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Datuk J.P. Tang Lung Sing, Kota Marudu Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Lu Kim Yen, Kota Belud Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Kapitan Lim Bum Poo, Beluran Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Tsen Kin Enn and Penampang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Yu Yong Choon, who are members of the Supreme Council.

Meanwhile, Tang said the rural folks have urged the new State Government to develop their constituen­cies and improve their quality of life.

Lu, on the other hand, hopes that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government would immediatel­y fulfil its election manifesto.
