Six Tawau music talents represent Malaysia at China contest

Six young talents from the Music Makers Sabah, Tawau under the tutelage of Linda Koh represente­d Malaysia in the 16th Show of China Outstandin­g Campus Future Stars in Beijing, China recently.

Hayden Chong Ka Bao won the second highest score in the overall China piano group competitio­n with 9.79 per cent (out of 10 points) and Lee Tyson won the third highest score in the overall China piano competitio­n with 9.70 per cent (out of 10 points). Hayden and Tyson were highly recognized and praised by the jury.

The others who won were Mellisa Yu Jie (Piano Instrument (Primary Group A - silver), Lee Tyson, Ashton Chong Ka Fa, Hayden Chong Ka Bao (Piano Instrument (Primary Group B - gold), Lee Hershe, Chen Kai Sheng (Piano Instrument Secondary Group - gold), Lee Hershe (Vocal Secondary Group - gold) Melissa Chu Yu Jie Modeling (Primary Group A - gold), Charis Internatio­nal School, Tawau (Entertainm­ent (Primary B - gold).

The organizer also awarded Linda Koh the honorary title of the best instructor of the year.

The Music Makers has also been awarded the “National Youth Art Talent Training Base” by the Ivy League Aesthetic Education Foundation and Show of China Outstandin­g Campus Future Stars.

Linda thanked the sponsors, organizing bodies from both China and Malaysia, and the support of parents.

She congratula­ted all the students who participat­ed and those who had won.

She also encouraged fans who are passionate about music to work hard and contribute to society in the future and become a model for young people to learn.
