KOTA KINABALU: Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and presentation of study awards to members’ children at Hakka Hall, 10am, on May 1.
KKJA chairman Yong Ted Phen urged members and their family to attend the event.
He said there would be several motions to be tabled at the AGM for discussion, including to upload a digital English version of the association’s Constitution to the Registrar of Societies Electronic System (eROSES), in compliance with the requirement of the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
The AGM also seeks to amend some wording in the Constitution, as well as inform members about the progress of strata title application for KKJA’s office at Api-Api Centre. Yong continued to say that KKJA was officially registered in 1992 and has since then been committed to promote better relations among members and taking care of their welfare, with the strong support from advisors and sponsors.
“In conjunction with the AGM on May 1, KKJA is giving out study awards to members’ children who have performed well in their academics and co-curriculum activities.
“The awards serve to motivate them to work harder and be individuals who could contribute positively to the society in the future.”
He said application of the study award had been distributed and members are urged to complete and submit the forms, along with the necessary documents, to the committee before April 20.
