Rep hopes Senator John will bring more funds for Penampang

-

KOTA KINABALU: Moyog assemblyman Terrence Siambun congratulated Umno Penampang chief Datuk John Ambrose on being appointed senator, and expressed hope that the latter will continue to bring funds for the district.

“I hope he will continue to do better than Upko, which to me is losing its grip in Penampang,” said Siambun who is also Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) treasurer.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Siambun said while John’s appointment was good for Penampang, it showed Barisan Nasional power in the constituency was now swaying towards Umno.

“Looks like Upko is losing its grip of Penampang since Umno is not only bringing in funds to Penampang, it is now awarded a senatorship. Hopefully he (John) will keep on bringing in funds to help out folks in Penampang.

“Hopefully he will do better than Upko. Looks like Upko has failed -- people in Penampang decided not to give the party another opportunity in the 13th general election,” Siambun said, adding that John must also not repeat what Upko had been promising.

Meanwhile on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s walkabout at Donggongon Tamu in Penampang today, Siambun expressed hope that he will see the actual situation in the area.

“The Prime Minister must be allowed to walk around the tamu ground and not just the areas the organisers want him to. That way he can see for himself what the situation on the ground is actually like,” Siambun said.
