OBike to offer services for special events

-

KUALA LUMPUR: After providing bicycle-for-rent service for the 29th South-East Asian Games Kuala Lumpur 2017, Singapore bike-sharing company, oBike, is spreading its wings further to offering services for special events held in Malaysia, such as exhibitions and concerts.

oBike Co-Funder/Chief Marketing Officer, Edward Chen, said the measure was part of its expansion plan as it had 10,000 bicycles in the country as well as the “go green” campaign to help make it convenient to commute to places around the city.

“We are really excited to have a collaboration with Idea Music Entertainment Group (IME), Asia’s leading concert organiser, in providing concert-goers a convenient way to get to and from IME events with oBike,” he told reporters after the signing the partnership agreement yesterday.

Under the agreement, oBike will provide its services for concerts organised by IME.

IME Group Chief Executive Officer, Brian Chow, said Obike would also be providing services at the four-day Malaysia Autoshow at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang, beginning tommorrow.

He said the collaboration was part of the company’s effort to help ease transportation issues for their customers.

“We realise that transportation is a big issue for concert-goers. We hope it can be solved with this collaboration,” he said.

Chow said the company has organised over 150 concerts throughout Asia to-date and expected the same figure next year. — Bernama
