KOTA KINABALU: The Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) will be honouring 30 senior reporters and editors who have served and are still working in the journalism industry for at least 25 years in its 25th Anniversary Celebration cum Press Night at Hakka Hall today.

KKJA chairman Yong Ted Phen said the long service awards aimed to recognize reporters and editors who have remained committed and dedicated to this line of work.

Apart from the long service awards, KKJA will be giving away attractive lucky draw prizes for members, including three Huawei smartphones, a round trip economy class air ticket from Kota Kinabalu to Tokyo on Malaysia Airlines (MAS), a Canon DSLR camera, external hard disks and hotel and resort accommodations.

Members are urged arrive at 6pm for registration. Distribution of door gifts and lucky draw numbers will close once the event begins.

“On behalf of the association, I would like to thank our advisors, honorary advisors and sponsors for their strong support, assistance and guidance for every event we organize.

“For our 25th Anniversary Celebration and Press Night, they have all rendered great support and sponsorship in terms of our long service awards, lucky draws and door gifts to KKJA members.

“The event would not have been a success without our advisors and sponsors,? he said.

Meanwhile, Yong and organizing chairman Jimmy Goh led the committee to call on Pan-Pacific Construction Holdings Sdn Bhd general manager Chang Tsai Chun and Mega City Development Sdn Bhd director George Yong recently.

Pan-Pacific Construction Holdings, or Centre Point Sabah, is sponsoring four external hard disks for the lucky draw while Mega City Development, the developer of Lido Avenue, has also offered its sponsorship for the event.
