Developer praised for building projects along Pan Borneo Highway

PAPAR: Papar has become an extremely strategic stopover township with the implementation of the Pan Borneo Highway connecting Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei by road, said Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Datuk Johnny Mositun.

Hence, Mositun said WSG Properties Sdn Bhd under the leadership of Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen has made a very farsighted and wise move to develop property projects along the Pan Borneo Highway, namely the Benoni Commercial Centre (BCC) located merely three kilometres away from Papar town centre.

He said this during the launching of BCC Phase 3 and the handing over of keys to BCC Phase 1 buyers held here yesterday.

Mositun believed that BCC has great potential in providing attractive returns on investment to its buyers when the Pan Borneo Highway is fully completed in two years' time.

He said BCC would have 175 units of two and three-storey shoplots upon completion, consisting of a shopping mall, a hypermarket, a petrol station and a fast food drive-through.

Mositun added BCC also includes 230 residential units sold at affordable prices to accommodate business operators and outstation students of Papar Middle School.

“BCC will provide many job opportunities to the residents of Papar,” he said, adding that the BCC falls under the new state constituency, Limbahau.

Mositun also praised Susan as a successful businesswoman who has been providing value for money commercial properties to buyers and investors.

Apart from commercial developments, Mositun said Papar had great potential for investment in the tourism sector.

“As a leader here, I hope we can do more in Limbahau,” he said.

Meanwhile, Susan, the managing director of WSG Group, said that people who were cash-rich should invest in properties to preserve the value of their cash against the weak ringgit.

She said investing in BCC would yield attractive returns as the value of the shoplots would appreciate further when the Pan Borneo Highway is completed in 2019.

The first two rows of BCC Phase 1 have obtained the Occupational Certificate (OC) while OC for the remaining rows would be ready by March.

Susan said BCC sits on a 40acre land located adjacent to the Pan Borneo Highway. Phase 1 comprises 65 units of two-storey shoplots that have been fully completed.

“A total of 15 units in the first row of Phase 1 have been purchased by Golden Dragon City Supermarket. I have been told that they are rushing to renovate the units in order to open for business before the Hari Raya celebration this year,”she said.

Phase 2 consists of 64 units of two-storey shoplots which has reached 50 per cent completion, with full completion expected by the end of this year. The newlylaunched Phase 3 comprises 56 units of three-storey shoplots and is now open for sale. Besides the commercial units, Susan said the development also includes the Benoni Gardens Apartment with 230 units in total priced from RM238,000 onwards.

The event also saw the donation of RM50,000 by WSG Properties Sdn Bhd to the new student hostel of Papar Middle School.

Also present were WSG Group directors Datuk Wong Ten An, Vanessa Wong, Melissa Wong, Jonathan Wong, Susan's mother Datin Seri Panglima Chen Si Mui.
