Winners of integrity video contest stand to receive RM5,000 as grant
KUALA LUMPUR: Participants of a competition to create short videos on Integrity will stand to win grants of up to RM5,000 from the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) to produce short video clips.
CommunicationsandMultimedia Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad said the grant would be offered to enhance their creativity and innovation in producing short videos locally.
“For example, it would be easier for those who win first, second and third places to be eligible for the grant which is based on the quality of production shown in the competition,” she said when speaking to reporters after launching the contest organised jointly by the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (INTEGRITY) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), here yesterday.
The contest themed ‘Integrity of various religions, core of people’s well-being’ is open to students from private higher learning institutions in the Klang Valley and registration is open from yesterday until July 20.
Meanwhile, INTEGRITY president and chief executive officer Dr Anis Yusal Yusoff said the competition was aimed at imbuing the value of integrity among youths, especially students.
“It is to create interest and creativity among university students to delve into the meaning of integrity as well as being inspired via short videos and indirectly providing more meaningful understanding to participants to appreciate integrity,” he said.
Participants of the competition would also be able to win cash prizes of up to RM2,000 as well as certificates. Those interested in participating can surf the website www.utar.edu.my. Before launching the contest, Dr Sharifah Zarah also presented prizes to a photography contest ‘Integrity in Action’ which was conducted from Dec 1, 2015 to Jan 1, 2016.
