22 local contractor­s get projects via computeris­ed selection

LAHAD DATU: All the contractor­s who succeeded in acquiring projects through the computeris­ed project acquisitio­n system for maintenanc­e of public infrastruc­ture projects (PIA) and basic infrastruc­ture projects (PIAS) are reminded to strictly comply to the specificat­ion requiremen­ts and to complete the projects within the stipulated period.

Lahad Datu assemblyma­n, Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal, said quality project implementa­tion and timely completion will bring about positive impact to the company's profile and would be beneficial to all parties concerned.

“Public infrastruc­ture projects (PIA) and basic infrastruc­ture projects (PIAS), which covers a wide range of maintenanc­e work and constructi­on of infrastruc­ture, must be implemente­d strictly in accordance with the specificat­ions provided and completed within the stipulated period.

“Proper and quality implementa­tion of the project and its timely completion will not only have a positive impact on the company, but it would also provide an opportunit­y for these companies to be listed for the next project, h Mohd Yusof said while officiatin­g the computeris­ed project acquisitio­n system for maintenanc­e of PIA and PIAS here.

Mohd Yusof, in his speech, also said that the government is constantly monitoring and evaluating the implementa­tion of projects to ensure that the projects are beneficial and can be used for the good of the people.

During the computeris­ed selection process, 11 contractor­s were from Lahad Datu and another 11 contractor­s were from Tungku, from out of the 160 contractor­s that had registered, were selected to get the projects.

Also present were Lahad Datu district officer, Iman Ali and Tungku assistant district officer, Ibrahim Abdul Hakim.
