A LUXURIOUS WRAP

I DO use sheet masks quite often but have never ventured into the luxury side of these products.

Most of the time, I’m quite satisfied with the results from standard sheet masks which give hydration and add a touch of brightness and freshness to a tired appearance.

Authent Mask II comes in a sleek black cardboard box. Inside there are two pieces, packed separately — one for the face and the other to be applied over the neck and decollete.

The instruction booklet contains a multitude of very specific instructions (including diagrams) to ensure proper application.

This is certainly not something you pull off from the package and plonk onto your face. There’s an art to putting on this mask so it works the way it’s supposed to.

It took some adjustment and lots of fidgeting on my part before I got it right, but eventually I managed to put on both pieces. The neck and decollete piece was a little cumbersome though.

It has to wrap tightly around the area and overlap at the back of your neck.

But I have to say it certainly felt good on my skin - very soothing and relaxing. A nice way to spend a quiet afternoon in your bedrooom giving your skin a luxurious treat.

After 15 minutes, I removed the mask as per the instructions and blended the remaining essence onto my skin. No rinsing is required.

My skin felt soft and looked relaxed and hydrated, probably due to the richness of the essence from the mask and it was nice knowing that I had given a “boost” to three problem areas of my skin at one go - the face, neck and decollete.

This mask offers a good option for skin pampering, especially if you have a big day coming up but don’t have the time to schedule an appointment at the beauty salon.

After all, doesn’t every woman (and her skin) deserve some tender, loving care once in a while?
