Perak exco members can’t wait to start work

-

IPOH: Newly-appointed Perak executive council members have pledged to do their best in performing their duty for the wellbeing of the state and people.

Simpang Pulai assemblyman Tan Kar Hing said what was important was to ensure that Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto was fulfilled.

He said he did not know which portfolio he would get.

“Once we get our portfolios, the next step is to meet heads of departments and agencies and formulate plans that will benefit the people.”

Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu is set to unveil each executive council member’s portfolio today.

Echoing Tan’s sentiment was Titi Serong assemblyman Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim from Parti Amanah Negara.

“I still cannot believe that I have been appointed. There are many in Amanah who have years of experiences, but I take this as a challenge to prove that I am capable of doing the job.”

Sungkai assemblyman A. Sivanesan said his appointment would boost the Indian community.

“I was an executive council member (in 2008 under the then Pakatan Rakyat government), but my service lasted only 10 months.

“This time, I promise to do my best to develop Perak and help Indians.

“Among the issues that will be highlighted are economic, education and social ones.

“There are 125 Tamil schools in Perak and they need better facilities.

“We also want to get unregistered temples to register with the state government.

“This will make it easier for us to monitor and help them.”

DAP’s Dr Abdul Aziz Bari said he could not wait to begin work to repay the trust of the PH leadership.

“I will do my best to solve community issues.

“I don’t mind any portfolio because our duty is to serve the people.”
