Interchange to be open to public by mid-April

BANGI: Property developer Mah Sing Group Bhd’s RM180 million Southville City interchange, here, that connects the township to the North-South Expressway, will be open to public by the middle of next month.

It was currently undergoing final rounds of safety checks, said Mah Sing yesterday.

The construction of the interchange, which began in September 2016, will benefit about 1.15 million residents around Bandar Baru Bangi, Kajang, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, Semenyih, Dengkil and Nilai.

“The interchange will significantly reduce the driving distance to neighbouring districts such as Dengkil, Sepang, Semenyih and Bangi by about 6km.

This is in compared with the current access via the Bangi exit (Exit 212) and the Putra Mahkota exit (Exit 213),” said group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum at the soft launch of the interchange, here, yesterday.

Leong said an estimated 69,000 Southville City future residents would benefit from the interchange once it started to operate.

“It would shorten the journey of Southville City residents in Bangi to Kuala Lumpur from 25km to 19km. The opening of the interchange is timely as we are currently handing over our Avens Residence 2½-storey and threestorey link homes and will be handing over vacant possession of 3,192 units of Savanna Executive Suites from today (Monday) onwards,” he said.

“Southville City would be the transit point for travellers commuting through the North-South Expressway around this area, and the interchange would give them the access,” he added.

This year, Leong said Mah Sing would be launching Towers C and D of the Cerrado Residential Suites, the Sensa Residential Suites and a new sales gallery.
