INDONESIA SIGNALS END TO RATE CUTS

GUANGDONG: Country Garden Pacificvie­w Sdn Bhd (CGPV), the main developer of Forest City in Iskandar Malaysia, yesterday signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MoU) with two educationa­l institutio­ns to encourage the exchange of skills, research and labour between Malaysia and China.

Its collaborat­ion was with Guangdong Country Garden Polytechni­c, here, and Johor Baru-based Southern College University.

The agreement aims to produce graduates who meet the needs of the global job market.

The signing of the MoU was held at the Guangdong Country Garden Polytechni­c campus in Qingyuan district, here.

CGPV was represente­d by its Corporate Communicat­ion and Strategic director Aeron Munajat, Southern College University by its president Dr Thock Kiah Wah and Guangdong Country Garden Polytechni­c by its president Liu Huijian.

Present were Johor Education Department Private Education sector head Norbiha Buang, Southern College University chairman Datuk Tan Meng Seng and his deputy Mok Chek Hua.

Aeron said through the collaborat­ion, the two educationa­l institutio­ns would share ideas and explore new areas of academia.

She said both educationa­l institutio­ns would be able to implement student and lecturer exchange programmes.

Both parties could also carry out research collaborat­ion, forums and twinning programmes as well as exchange informatio­n in their respective fields of research.

“Students graduating from these two institutio­ns will undergo practical training at Forest City for a year before being absorbed into CGPV as permanent staff,” she said.
