ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLE BLOCKING WAY TO PLAYGROUND

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The public is frustrated over vehicles illegally parked at an undesignated space and blocking the way to a playground at a park in Jalan SS17/2J in Subang Jaya.

A resident, who wants to remain anonymous, said there was no yellow marking painted on the space to indicate it was a parking spot.

The resident said Jalan SS17/2J was adjacent to the playground in Jalan SS17/2, which was the inner perimeter road parallel to Jalan Jengka in Subang Jaya.

“I always go for a walk in the park and whenever I pass the parking area, I always see vehicles illegally parked at the spot near an entrance to the playground.

“The public has difficulties bringing their children there because the vehicle is blocking the entrance.

“The local authority should place bollards to prevent motorists from parking their vehicles there,” he said.

ACTIONLINE:

SS17 Subang Jaya Kawasan Rukun Tetangga chairman A. B. Naicker said yesterday he had forwarded the matter to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) councillor, Ken Chia.

He said the problem had occurred for a month.

“On behalf of the residents, I have brought the matter to the attention of the councillor.

“He told me that enforcement officers would be sent to the park to monitor the place and would patrol the area more often.

“They said they would issue summonses to errant motorists blocking the space until a permanent solution is in place,” he said.

An MPSJ spokesman said it would take action soon.
