Umno key to progress in Sabah, says Semporna info chief
KOTA KINABALU: Semporna Umno information chief Datuk Ramlee Marahaban says it was Umno which had been bringing progress and development to the state.
“We were left behind long ago, but as Umno spread its wings to Sabah 27 years ago, our state progressed tremendously.”
Ramlee said among the developments that would spur the state’s development included the Pan Borneo Highway.
Sabah, he said, was looking forward to improved connectivity.
Ramlee lauded the efforts of Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak in ensuring that the numerous packages of the highway construction projects were being completed.
Sabahans, he said, were also grateful with the assurance that the highway would be toll-free.
In his debate, Ramlee expressed his gratitude on behalf of Sabahans as many of them had been appointed to top government posts.
“When we see people from Sabah becoming ministers, our children believe and understand that even they have the merit to serve at the highest level as government ministers.
“Back then, Sabah leaders were only given portfolios of less importance or popularity. Today, ministers at the helm of the country are from Sabah, and we are proud and thankful of Umno for making this happen.”
