INDUSTRY RECOGNITION: Company specialises in enhancing credibility and visibility of clients

IT has been a most fitting victory for full marketing services company bzBee Consult Sdn Bhd when it won the Public Relations Consultants Association’s (PRCA) Public Affairs Award recently.

The top prize won by bzBee Consult was for the work the firm did for its most ardent and supportive client, the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju).

bzBee Consult managing director Mohd Said Bani CM Din, fondly referred to as Bani in the public relations and corporate world, recognises how apt and meaningful the public affairs award victory is.

This is because Bani operates a successful Bumiputera company.

Through the work for Teraju, he has helped many Bumiputera companies throughout the country succeed, and it is only fitting that the firm has been rewarded for the noble work it has been doing in promoting the Bumiputera agenda.

“We submitted our entry for the finals in the public affairs category and we won an award for (our work for) Teraju.

“In this case, client support is very important and Teraju has always been giving us strong support from the outset.

“And, for a Bumiputera company to get such a recognition is very special for us. We are a Teras company, a high-performing Bumiputera company,” Bani told Business Times.

Bani set up bzBee in 2011 with five people and the company has grown into a 30-person outfit today.

He describes bzBee as a full marketing services company and said that at its core were the PR and event management units.

Bani, who is well-placed to make industry-wide observations, said that the industry was very challenging today because there were many players and the competition was stiff.

“Public relations is always about understanding the sentiments of fellow Malaysians and this is very important. So, you need to have a structure and you need to have the heart.

“We excel at correcting perceptions, enhancing credibility as well as visibility. We were good at providing crisis management services to our clients.

“Before going in to service companies, we do a dipstick survey, which is a perception exercise in what people think about us,” said Bani.

He added that bzBee Consult’s client-base was partly made up of government-linked companies and partly of homegrown corporations.

“We would love to go regional and we do have extensive experience providing services to organisations overseas,” said Bani.
