Kim, who took on a dark and serious character as a prosecutor in the drama Punch, is happy to play a different role.

“Currently, I’m working on movies. I’ve participated in movies that deal with serious matters and my roles are somewhat heavy. So my role in this cheerful drama, Doctors, is welcomed. Since Park is my university junior and all the male actors want to work with her, I am happy to be the one playing opposite her,” says the 35-year-old.

Given his previous roles, how then did he prepare for his character?

“Since my roles in my previous works were all experts in diverse areas, I had no pressure at first. But when I started shooting the surgery scenes, I realised that acting as a neurosurgeon was not easy,” he says.

“I studied the simple medical terms on my own and rather than the medical techniques, I focused on the attitude of the doctor towards the patient in every different scene.” .

Asked if there are similarities between him and the character he plays, Kim says,
