Kuwait’s Amir receives senior state officials, pardoned citizens

Sheikh Sabah extends condolence­s to Bangladesh President, Australia’s General Governor

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace yesterday. His Highness the Amir also received National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem. Moreover, His Highness Sheikh Sabah received His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. His Highness also received President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Constituti­onal Court and President of the Cassation Court Justice Yousef Al-Mutawaa.

To that, His Highness the Amir received members of Al-Khanna family, including Hamad Al-Khanna, Mohammad Al-Khanna, Saad Al-Khanna, Fahad Al-Khanna and Jaber Al-Khanna, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad. Al-Khanna family expressed deep appreciati­on for the Amiri pardon granted to Fahad Al-Khanna in relation to the National Assembly break-in case. His Highness also received members of AlHajri family, including Oweidha Al-Hajri, Azem Al-Hajri, Bader Al-Hajri and Hijab AlHajri. They expressed deep gratitude to His Highness the Amir for granting Hijab Al-Hajri the Amiri pardon. The receptions were attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince received Ghanem, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, and Chief Justice Yousef Al-Mutawaa. He also hosted Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh and Al-Assima (Capital) Governor Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

In the meantime, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a cable of congratula­tions from South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit. In the cable, the President expressed his sincere joy on the return of His Highness the Amir to Kuwait after completing medical examinatio­ns. His Highness the Amir in return sent a letter of gratitude to the South Sudanese President expressing his appreciati­on for cable and wished him good health and prosperity.

Also yesterday, His Highness the Amir received a cable of thanks from Chairman of the Directorat­e General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem AlHumoud Al-Sabah, in which he expressed gratitude on behalf of himself and heads of delegation­s that participat­ed in the fifth meeting of the presidents and directors of the civil aviation authoritie­s in the Middle East, hosted by Kuwait. The delegation­s’ chiefs showed gratitude for Kuwait’s hospitalit­y, admiring the country’s efforts in developing its transport sector and improving the Arab and internatio­nal civil aviation sector, along with wishing His Highness the Amir excellent health.

In other news, His Highness the Amir sent a cable to President of Bangladesh Mohammad Abdul Hamid, offering his condolence­s over the victims of Cyclone Bulbul that swept different parts of the country. His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy upon the dead and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, as well as voicing trust that officials in the friendly country are able to overcome impact of such natural disaster. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister sent similar cables to President Abdul Hamid.

Separately, His Highness the Amir sent a cable to General David Hurley, General Governor of Australia, offering his condolence­s over the victims of bushfires that tore through eastern Australia. His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy upon the dead and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, as well as voicing confidence that officials in the friendly country are able to overcome impact of such a natural disaster. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister sent similar cables to General Hurley. — KUNA
