KCST participates in the Kuwait University Programming Competition
Under the patronage of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Global Programming Competition, Kuwait College of Science and Technology participated in the 6th Kuwait ICPC Programming Competition; Which focus on competing participants in programming languages, and organized by the members of the Organizing Committee of the Kuwaiti and Arab Programming Competition of the Global Programming Contest in C , C++, JAVA.
A team from Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST), consisting of three students: Ali Al-Awadhi, Nora Al-Sulaiman and Nasser Al-Saqabi, are formally invited to the Arab Programming Competition in November in Sharm El-Sheikh under the supervision of Tareq Al-Zayat. In the university and intensive preparations happen in order to enter the competition for the first time in addition to the efforts of organizers and the organizers of the competition.
Professor Khalid Al-Begain, President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology, said: “We are pleased to have the students of this university compete in this competition, and urge the contestants to develop their knowledge and skills in using the different programming languages, especially the most prevalent ones.
Professor Al-Begain assured that participating in the scientific competitions is the practical application that the students in the classroom harvest, and that they show the contestants the ability to use the different programming languages to keep up the pace with modern technological development, which depends on understanding the basics of programming. He also confirmed that he is confident that the students of Kuwait College of Science and Technology are working hard before graduation, and the future is open to them in all fields.
Engineer Tariq Al-Zayat, a teacher in the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science, as well as the supervisor of the university’s programming club, expressed that he found in the students a high level of proficiency in the programming languages; which gave them confidence to participate in this competition in the State of Kuwait. In also helping them to develop scientific skills, as they are always ready to learn and understand everything new in the world of technology.
Engineer Tariq Al-Zayat said that the programming club has designed various workshops, and the first of which was dealing with an application on the phone to teach the programming languages, and create new applications. They are also organizing the new workshops with different topics including Photoshop, creating web sites, and dealing with robot simulation programs. He assured that these workshops have received great success, and distinguished turnout from the university students; especially that the university offers distinguished specialties, which are presented for the first time in Kuwait. He is a Bachelor of Electronics and Communications Engineering, a Bachelor of Computer Engineering, and a Bachelor of Computer Science.”
