Burgan Bank concludes sponsorship of KES’s annual ‘Green Unit Bazaar’
Striving to enrich society by supporting activities that provide added-value to all segments, Burgan Bank recently concluded its sponsorship of the “Green Unit Bazaar”, which took place at the Kuwait English School (KES) for the second consecutive year. An annual non-profit event ran by the “Green Unit department” at KES, which aims to advance the skills and talents of students with disabilities.
The “Green Unit department” caters to 125 students with special educational needs, aged 6 to 21, offering them a healthy, safe and holistic educational environment in line with the school’s objective to inspire, challenge and encourage newer and fulfilling experiences. Every year, it hosts the coveted Green Unit Bazaar to help raise awareness and funds for students with special needs.
The Bazaar was an open day for all family members with plentiful children’s interactive activities ranging from games, face painting, photo booths, henna painting, story reading surrounded by a variety of food, clothes and gadgets stalls. Children also had the opportunity to purchase educational toys, books, pieces of art, and jewelry. The money raised during the event will all be invested to provide an effective learning environment for students with special educational needs.
Burgan Bank’s support of this initiative falls under its recently launched full-fledged community program entitled ‘ENGAGE’ - Together to be the change. This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to ‘ENGAGE’ begins with a vital principle that as a Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society.
