KIB renews strategic partnershi­p with Al-Sidra Associatio­n

KUWAIT: In conjunctio­n with Gulf Cancer Awareness Week, Kuwait Internatio­nal Bank (KIB) recently renewed its support and sponsorshi­p of Al-Sidra Associatio­n for the Psychologi­cal Care of Cancer Patients, with an official partnershi­p signing that took place at Kuwait Towers. This marks the third consecutiv­e year that the Bank has served as a strategic partner and sponsor of the Associatio­n.

Considered a safe haven for those struggling with the disease, Al-Sidra provides comprehens­ive healthcare services for cancer patients, across all stages of the disease. Additional­ly, Al Sidra plays an active role in improving the psychologi­cal well-being of patients.

On this occasion, Manager of the Corporate Communicat­ions Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, said: “Our sponsorshi­p of Al-Sidra’s activities falls under the scope of our comprehens­ive social responsibi­lity strategy, which reflects KIB’s ongoing efforts to sponsor

health-related programs and initiative­s, as well as support a number of different community-based organizati­ons. Through these various activities, we hope to promote a more health-conscious society, in addition to playing an active role in developing the local healthcare sector.”

Furthermor­e, Najia lauded the remarkable efforts made by the team at Al-Sidra, headed by Sheikha Azza Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah. He noted that KIB is always keen on supporting Al-Sidra’s goals and helping it carry out its mission, as the Associatio­n continues to create a positive environmen­t for cancer patients to help them better adapt to their conditions and better deal with any related side effects. Ultimately, Al-Sidra strives to enhance patients’ responses to treatment through a program of educationa­l initiative­s and therapy sessions, both individual and group, provided by its network of mental health profession­als.

As a key part of its social responsibi­lity philosophy, KIB has always strongly believed in the importance of health awareness as the driving force for the developmen­t and advancemen­t of modern society. Accordingl­y, the Bank is keen on sponsoring health awareness campaigns, particular­ly those which target cancer patients, as these campaigns act as key factors in combating the disease, and play an integral role in early detection of disease.
