Zain main sponsor of GCC’s Unified Traffic Week 2017
Part of its corporate sustainability, social responsibility strategy
KUWAIT: Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced its main sponsorship of the Gulf Cooperation Council’s Unified Traffic Week 2017 in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Traffic. The event takes place from 12-17 March.
Zain participated in the opening ceremony of the GCC’s Unified Traffic Week exhibition at the Avenues mall, which witnessed the participation of the Undersecretary of Traffic Affairs Major General Fahad Al Shuwaie as well as a number of representatives of the GCC’s MOI and Traffic Departments.
Zain sponsored this initiative as part of its Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategy to serve the community. The company will always be keen on shouldering initiatives that work towards enhancing the society’s welfare in cooperation with the various ministries and public authorities.
The GCC’s Unified Traffic Week is an annual event that aims at spreading awareness about traffic safety and traffic laws, especially within young people. The exhibition features a number of activities about the importance of using seatbelts, the dangers of passing red lights, as well as other traffic-related topics. The exhibition also featured a booth for the General Department of Traffic’s services. Additionally, the event will include field visits to students and a ceremony to recognize the efforts of veteran traffic officers.
Zain will continue to find ways to serve the community as to foster a better world and be a productive member of the society. The company’s long-term cooperation with the Ministry of Interior included launching SMS awareness campaigns regarding various issues that are of interest to the society.
