ISN educationa­l seminar: On Thursday, Feb 20, the Internatio­nal Student Network (ISN) will return to Kuwait to host a free educationa­l seminar and open house at the Regency Hotel in Bida’a from 5:00-9:00 pm. The Embassy’s Education USA Adviser and consular officers will be present at the fair. Additional­ly, eight US colleges and universiti­es will participat­e in the event to provide informatio­n about their schools and answer questions from students and parents about educationa­l opportunit­ies in the United States.

This educationa­l event is organized by ISN, in cooperatio­n with the US Embassy. Agenda: 5:15-6:00 pm: Informatio­n session about education in the US and student visas

6:00-9:00 pm: Open house. Come and speak face-to-face with university admissions officers and learn about the programs they offer, student life, the costs of studying in the US and much more.

St Paul’s Church weekly activities: English worship services on Fridays at 10.30 am and on Sundays at 6.30 pm. The Friday English service has separate sessions for children and youth. A Mandarin language speaking congregati­ons meets separately on Fridays at 10.30 am in the Youth Centre at St Paul’s. A combined service with the English and Mandarin language congregati­ons is held on the first Friday of every month. A family service is held on the second Friday of every month with presentati­ons from different organs of the church. KDNA Mahostavam 2020: Ranjith the versatile well-known film director will attend as Chief Guest in KDNA Malabar Mahostavam 2020 on Friday, Feb 21.

Malabar Mahostavam 2020 will be a whole day entertainm­ent program with variety of items starting from morning at the Indian Central School open auditorium will witness good talents from Kerala in singing and mimicry as well. There will be competitio­n for children, women etc. The official cultural program will be in the evening at 5pm, and will be inaugurate­d by Ranith. The event is held in conjunctio­n with Kuwait National and Liberation days celebratio­ns.

Register online with NORKA: For those who have not yet been able to register for Kerala Govt’s NORKA insurance identity card and become a member of the Non-Resident Welfare Pension Scheme, Online Spot Registrati­on is being offered. The office bearers of the Global Kerala Pravasi Associatio­n (GKPA) have arranged this service for expatriate­s on Feb 21, March 6, March 13, and on March 20 in connection with various area meetings of GKPA in Kuwait.

Registrati­on will be open on February 21 at Mahboola, Block 1 Kala Hall, March 6 at Mangaf-Indraprast­ha Hall, March 13 at Sarathi Hall, near Abbasiya Choice Restaurant and on March 20 at Farwaniya Metro Clinic Hall from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Holy Quran classes: Emanway Foundation – Musk is offering classes to teach English-speaking ladies (and girls ages 5 and up) to read the Holy Quran in Arabic. The method is al-Qaedah Noorania, a traditiona­l program which has been used for many years around the world. (Note: ‘Al-Qaedah’ simply means ‘base’; this can be likened to a basic phonics program.)
