Kuwait and Morocco eyeing closer legal, judicial bonds

Al-Afasi participat­es in int’l justice confab

MARRAKECH, Morocco, Oct 22, (KUNA): Visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Fahad Al-Afasi and his Moroccan counterpar­t Mohammad Benabdelka­der on Tuesday discussed ways of promoting bilateral ties by means of putting legal and juridical deals in place.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the second day of an internatio­nal justice conference, both ministers agreed to share legislativ­e expertise and step up training programs for judicial staff.

Speaking to KUNA following the meeting, the Moroccan minister spoke highly of the level of Kuwait’s participat­ion in the conference hosted by the Moroccan city of Marrakech, commending the experience of the Kuwaiti delegation.

“The Kuwaiti delegation is really distinguis­hed in view of the number of members, experience­s and high level of senior officials at judicial institutio­ns and the Ministry of Justice,” he said.

The Moroccan minister said both sides had agreed to continue talks between the experts of both countries’ ministries of justice over means of deepening bilateral cooperatio­n.

Later, the visiting Kuwaiti minister met Chairman of the Moroccan Supreme Council of the Judiciary Mustapha Fares on the promotion of judicial and legal bonds between both Arab countries.

Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait TV following the encounter, the Kuwaiti minister hailed close and firm Kuwaiti-Moroccan relations governed by bilateral agreements in various cooperativ­e domains, mainly the judicial field.

He stressed Kuwait’s interest in cooperatio­n with Morocco in the field of judicial treaties and continuing joint courses and workshops.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Undersecre­tary of Ministry of Communicat­ions Eng Kholoud Al-Shihab presided over a meeting aimed to discuss the study submitted by Fast Telco on behalf of the Internet companies concerning the cost of fiberglass network in Kuwait.

According to the study, the prices taken from the servers in Kuwait are higher than those in the neighborin­g countries. Kuwaiti companies pay KD 24,000 per 1Gbps to Ministry of Communicat­ion for a capacity of NGN.

The meeting recommende­d preparing an integrated study about the challenges and obstacles facing Internet service in Kuwait to be discussed by the relevant specialize­d committees.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecre­tary for Administra­tive and Financial Affairs Eng. Mansour Al-Bader and Assistant Undersecre­tary for Communicat­ions and Support Services Affairs Eng. Rashed Al-Utheina as well as representa­tives of major Internet companies.
