Oil Minister affirms deeply rooted oil ties with Vietnam
Al Fadhel meets with PM

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Minister of Oil, Electricity and Water Dr Khaled Al-Fadhel affirmed on Wednesday, the deeply rooted relations in field of oil shared between Kuwait and Vietnam.
Al-Fadhel told KUNA that he met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vietnam’s Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and discussed exchanging expertise and trade relations, especially in the oil sector.
Al-Fadhel stressed importance of Kuwait’s mission to invest in Vietnam, most importantly the oil sector.
Vietnamese officials applauded remarkable improvement in the Nghi Son Refinery Petrochemical Complex project, stressing Vietnam’s keenness and support for the success of the project, which estimates 40 percent of market fuel needs, he added.
Al-Fadhel expressed deep appreciation to Vietnamese government efforts in the project and hailed the relations between Vietnam, Japan and Kuwait.
The Nghi Son Refinery Petrochemical Complex project established in April 2008 between Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) by 35.1 percent, Vietnam Petrovietnam 25.1 percent, Japan Idemitsu Kosan by 35.1 percent and Mitsui Chemicals Inc. 4.7 percent.
Kuwait Voluntary Work Center announced Wednesday that the Union of Consumer Co-Operative Societies (UCCS) agreed on replacing plastic bags with environment-friendly biodegradable bags.
The remarks were made to KUNA by the center’s Chairperson Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, after meeting with advisors from the Environment Public Authority (EPA), deputy chairman of the UCCS Khaled Al-Hodheiban and heads of co-operative societies.
The replacement aims to protect the environment and reduce harm caused by non-biodegradable plastic bags that could threat the lives of humans and other living creatures, Sheikha Amthal, also member of the Supreme Council for the Environment added.
