Police arrest four in murder of elderly Kuwaiti in Egypt house
Robbery motive of killing, says probe
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Four suspects in the murder of a Kuwaiti in his house in Egypt with the intention to steal have been arrested, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting the Criminal Security Unit in the Security Directorate of Western Governorate, North Egypt.
It has been reported the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
Earlier, securitymen discovered the corpse of the 54-yearold Kuwaiti who was murdered inside his flat in Al-Jafariya Town. His remains were referred to Al Santa Hospital.
A team, which was formed to establish circumstances leading to the murder, found out that the motive for killing was robbery.
Saudi arrested:
Securitymen manning the Nuwaiseeb land border point have arrested an unidentified Saudi who had escaped on foot leaving behind his vehicle, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily said the suspect was travelling with his family and when the customs men asked him and his family to step out of the car and subjected the vehicle for inspection, the young Saudi escaped on foot.
The customs men then informed the securitymen and provided the civil ID number of the suspect. The suspect was caught inside a central market close to the border. He has been referred to the concerned authority. During the search of the vehicle police found a quantity of cigarettes.
Drifter nabbed:
Personnel from General Security Department have arrested an unidentified 36-year-old Kuwaiti for reckless driving and endangering the lives of other road users, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, the suspect was taken into custody for doing stunts on a road in Sabahiya. He is also charged with driving without a licence and car registration book.
The arrest came after the Operations Room of Interior Ministry received many complaints from pedestrians and other motorists.
The car has been impounded and the man has been referred to the concerned authorities.
Cheat manager flees:
A legal affairs manager, whose identity has not been disclosed, is involved in the embezzlement of KD300,000 from a major company where he works and then escaped out of the country, reports Al-Qabas daily.
A knowledgeable source said the Financial Supervision Office at the Enforcement General Department discovered forged receipts showing that a company deposited KD35,000 to the department which notified the company about the receipts but they turned out to be forged.
The case was referred to the Public Prosecution and investigation is underway.
Indian fined KD 100:
The Traffic Court has issued a verdict in absentia against an unidentified Indian for crossing the red traffic light and causing accident by violating the right of way law
and fined him KD 100, reports AlRai daily.
The court has requested the Public Prosecution to inform the defendant of the verdict.
A source pointed out the defendant will not be able to appeal the verdict after a period of 27 days calculated from day two of the issue of the verdict.
Rotten food destroyed:
Director of Jahra Inspection Branch in
the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition Dr Nawwaf Al-Enzi disclosed that the inspection supervisors destroyed 77 tons of rotten food items confiscated during the inspection tours carried out this year, reports Alrai daily.
Speaking to the daily, Al-Enzi said the inspectors visited some markets in Jahra Industrial Area recently, resulting in the issuance of 14 citations for various violations and registration of seven pledges .
Wife assaulted:
An unidentified Egyptian woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband of severely beating her following a dispute between them, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily added, according to a medical report submitted by the woman, she is suffering from wounds and abrasions.
When the woman called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior, police rushed to the spot and took the husband into custody.
