Kuwaiti lawmakers, Tunisian PM mull ties
Investment opportunities in Tunisia discussed
TUNIS, April 11, (KUNA): Visiting lawmakers and members of the sixth parliamentary friendship group held talks Tuesday with Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed over means to buttress bilateral relations and increase reciprocal official visits.
“We are aware the historical relations between Kuwait and Tunisia, and we seek to strengthen them and explore new areas of cooperation between the two brotherly peoples,” Kuwaiti lawmaker and delegation member, Dr. Mohammad Al-Huwaila said in a statement to KUNA and Kuwait official TV.
He pointed out that the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation held indepth talks with Tunisian Prime Minister Chahed over means of enhancing relations between the two countries.
The parliaments of the two countries have a great role to play in this regard, he stressed.
He revealed that the Kuwaiti delegation presented an official invitation to the speaker of the Tunisian People’s Assembly to visit Kuwait.
He called for increasing reciprocal visits of lawmakers of the two countries to exchange expertise.
For its part, the Tunisian government said in a statement that the premier received and held talks with the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation.
In addition to bilateral ties, the talks touched on increasing Kuwaiti investments in Tunisia, the statement added.
