Bedoun wanted for 10-year jail in abduction case held By Meshal Al-Sanousi

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: A 1983born Bedoun resident who was sentenced in absentia to ten-year imprisonme­nt for a kidnapping case was arrested in Mubarak Al-Kabeer area.

According to security sources, Mubarak Al-Kabeer securityme­n were on routine patrol duty in the area when they suspected a vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked his details and discovered he is a Bedoun who is wanted for enforcemen­t of a sentence issued in absentia against him. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, Farwaniya securityme­n arrested a Bedoun youth who was involved in a crime that occurred in Sabah Al-Nasser area and was sentenced to ten-year imprisonme­nt.

In addition, a 1977-born Kuwaiti citizen who was wanted by law for nonpayment of a debt worth KD 30 and for his involvemen­t in a case of breach of trust was arrested and referred to the concerned authoritie­s.

Drug peddler caught: The Nugra police have arrested a bedoun for traffickin­g in drugs and narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source police acting on a tipoff from an unidentifi­ed source put the man under surveillan­ce for some time and after taking legal procedures raided his home in a suburb of Sa’ad Al-Abdulla and confiscate­d 5 kilos of hashish, 10 narcotic pills and two bottles of whisky.

According to records the bedoun had been sentenced in absentia to 10 years suspended sentence.

He has been referred to the Public Prosecutio­n.

Injuries in gang fight: A quarrel broke out among a group of Kuwaiti juveniles near a roundabout in Riqqa area near Hadiya, resulting in injuries to two among them.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the quarrel, securityme­n rushed to the location and settled the quarrel among the Kuwaiti juveniles. Two of them were referred to the nearest hospital for treatment of the injuries they sustained.

When questioned, the suspects revealed that the quarrel was based on some personal disputes among them. They were referred to the concerned authoritie­s for necessary legal action.
