KUWAIT CITY, March 28: In efforts to join many institutions in drawing attention to the issue of global warming, Millennium Hotel & Convention Center Kuwait actively contributed during the International Earth Hour — March 25 — by switching off the non-essential lighting for one hour and light candles, leading the way to a sustainable future. This positive initiative from Millennium Kuwait came as part of its incessant commitment to realize its corporate social responsibility.
During the event, Dani Saleh — Area General Manager of the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Kuwait, met with the team at the hotel lobby, and together they lit a bunch of candles to form the number 60, symbolizing the Earth Hour in minutes. Hotel guests were also invited to take part in this initiative, and many actually welcome the idea and participated.
“The Earth Hour is an opportunity for each of us to come together and unite our voice in expressing our support for the planet we live in and our determination to take action to reduce the negative effects of climate change,” said Dani Saleh.
Earth Hour is a global initiative launched by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and is considered on of the largest and most effective movements to protect the environment against climate change. The movement began in 2007 and followed by 1.8 billion people worldwide.
