UP NRI Forum elects new office bearers

The Advisory Council of UP NRI Forum, Kuwait which is supreme governing body, held its meeting on July 8. A brief about social and welfare activities carried out by the forum and financial report was presented to the house by the office bearers. Report on medical and financial help provided to needy patients in Kuwait and efforts to support sick and needy persons were also deliberate­d. It was stated that the forum is in touch with IDF team to organize a free Medical Health Checkup camp. President shared his efforts in meeting with authoritie­s from Kuwait Airways, Indian Embassy and Government of UP, to start a direct flight between Kuwait and Lucknow.

The advisory council also elected new office bearer team which will have tenure of one year from now onwards. All members present strongly felt that since the forum is still in its infancy phase and needed present key associates of the office bearer team to continue their outstandin­g work for another term. Keeping in view the same, the advisory council members present in the meeting re-elected the team with majority of votes on ad-hoc basis for the year 2016/2017, with a few position shuffles.

The advisory council has entrusted the responsibi­lity of leading the Forum to the following personnel.

President — Noorul Hasan Shaikh, Vice-President — Shakeel Ahmad Khan, General Secretary — Mohan Ram, Joint Secretary — Abdul Malik, Treasurer — Khaleeq-uz-zaman, Joint Treasure — MohdKhalee­l Khan, Convener Dr Nazar Abbas, Event Manager — Adnan Siddiqui, Joint Event Manager — Mohammad Sufiyan. The council also nominated team of executive committee members for a term of one year, who would provide active support to newly elected office bearers in executing their assigned tasks. The newly appointed office bearers and EC members resolved to dedicate their valuable time and provide financial support to downtrodde­n and needy UPIANs in Kuwait and back home.
