MP Al-Zalalah criticizes CSC

KUWAIT CITY, July 11: Chairman of the Parliamentary Priorities Committee MP Dr Yousef Al-Zalzalah shed light on the importance of equal treatment among all state employees. He added 40 percent of state employees have not been lucky as their counterparts who received increment in 2010 and previous years through series of demands, protests and strike actions, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Dr Al-Zalzalah declared that employees who considered the interest of their work and waited for the promised equal treatment have not been granted increment. He said the employees in question have been treated unfairly, especially as government came out suddenly with the idea of alternative salary strategy. He said the formula has changed the trend of event and concerned employees are frustrated after five years of unfulfilled promise.

He blamed the government for delaying the fair and successful comprehensive employee ladder proposal for all state employees. He also criticized Civil Service Commission for employing retinue of employees and consultants in a particular company to gather information, noting it is the only sector in the country that enjoys such privilege.

He wondered if the commission applies the decision on retired employees who have put in over 30 years of services the same way other agencies were mandated, and required concerned official should be held accountable for injustices against 40 percent of the state employees. He noted the decision affected about 107,000 Kuwaiti employees.
