KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: Personnel from the General Investigat­ion Department have arrested a gang of three persons, including a woman who works as a receptioni­st in a private hospital for selling medicines belonging to the Ministry of Health for a throwaway price, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added, the arrest came after the CID received a tip-off from an unidentifi­ed police source.

Police then set a trap and arrested the main suspect and during interrogat­ion he admitted to the charge and gave police detailed informatio­n how he managed to steal the medicines.

Police have seized from the gang a quantity of medicines.

The trio has been referred to the concerned authoritie­s.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh is said to have issued instructio­n to lift ‘section 75’ which had been imposed on the employees of the Al-Watan newspaper, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added instructio­ns have been issued to the Public Manpower Authority to lift the section 75 which had been imposed on the employees who number about 200 to make way for them to transfer their residence permits to other establishm­ents.

Forgers caught:

Personnel from the Criminal Investigat­ion Department have arrested a gang of forgers for selling revenue stamps, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The arrest came after the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a tip-off on the activities of the suspects.

The authoritie­s then set a trap for the suspects, two Pakistanis and arrested them and during interrogat­ion they admitted to forging KD 10 revenue stamps and selling them to an Egyptian mandoub for half the price.

Police then raided the apartment of the suspects in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and caught the suspects.

Police have seized from the men equipment used for making stamps and referred the men to the authoritie­s. Police have also seized from the men stamps ready for sale. Police are looking for one of the accomplice­s.

Caught in chase:

Police from the Capital Governorat­e have arrested an unidentifi­ed Egyptian who had been sentenced in absentia for 15 years imprisonme­nt in drugs case, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the man was taken into custody in Sharq. He reportedly tried in vain to escape but was chased and arrested.

He has been handed over to the Sentences Enforcemen­t Department.

MoI site hacked:

Saudi hackers penetrated the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry site, changed the home page, and disrupted services, reports Annahar daily.

The hackers who called themselves ‘bad dream team’ infiltrate­d the Ministry of Defense site a few days ago and warned of loopholes in government sites and announced that they would not trample the site.

They stated this is just to alert the officials about the need to secure the government sites in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other Gulf states. Five people were injured in a four-vehicle collision along Fahaheel Road going towards Kuwait City on Tuesday. The Operations Room at Kuwait Fire Service Directorat­e (KFSD) received informatio­n on the accident so it immediatel­y dispatched firefighte­rs and emergency workers to the location. The rescuers helped the victims out of the vehicles and referred them to Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital.
