Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, HD Hyundai and other Korean companies are set to showcase advanced AI technologies at the upcoming CES tech trade show to demonstrate their leadership in the emerging technology that has been sweeping the world, according to the companies, Wednesday.

The world’s largest IT show will be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 9 to 12. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organizer of the event, anticipates this year’s tech show will be larger than last year’s, with an expected attendance of over 130,000.

The number of participating companies has increased by about 10 percent from last year, with a total of over 3,500 companies from over 150 countries set to showcase their technologies. The organizer said that the main topic of this event will be AI, demonstrating the impact of AI on various industries such as smart homes, health care, fintech and manufacturing.

Among Korean companies, Samsung Electronics plans to reveal its on-device AI products and vision under the theme “AI for All: Connectivity in the Age of AI.” Under this vision, the Korean tech giant will showcase its robot vacuum cleaner Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, its stick vacuum Bespoke Jet AI and its Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus equipped with the AI Vision Inside feature.

Samsung said its Vision AI technology, which has been trained by analyzing about a million photos of different types of food, automatically creates a list of tasty recipes. The Bespoke Jet AI also has enhanced its AI mode to categorize and optimize suction power based on brush load and pressure.

The SK Group will also send seven of its affiliates, including SK Telecom and SK hynix, to operate a joint promotion booth. Particularly, SK hynix, its memory semiconductor affiliate, announced that it will demonstrate its leadership in AI memory chips at CES.

“SK hynix will highlight the company’s future vision, which is represented as memory-centric, at this CES,” SK hynix said. “Through this, we aim to inform the world about the importance of memory chips, which are emphasized with technological advancements in the AI era, and our competitiveness leading the global market in this sector.”

Specifically, SK hynix plans to display AI memory products such as HBM3E. HBM3E is the highest performing memory that SK hynix successfully developed last August. The company plans to start mass-producing this product in the first half of this year and supply it to customers.

HD Hyundai plans to announce its ambition to expand its business to land infrastructure beyond shipbuilding, its existing main business, at this year’s CES. The company recently teamed up with Google Cloud to build an AI platform and plans to introduce generative AI technology to its core businesses such as construction machinery business, presenting a vision to accelerate digital innovation.
