Don’t want my man to leave me

-

Dear Pastor,

I have been dating a guy for more than three years. During that time, we did not take things seriously. But we started taking the relationship seriously in 2018.

He cheated on me once, but he said it wasn’t anything serious. From that time, we have been having a lot of problems. The problem I am having is that I realise that he is always telling me that he wants to end the relationship, and I have been asking him not to leave me. So he keeps staying with me, but he is always asking for space, or a break. But I refuse to give it to him.

I love this guy so much and I can’t see myself without him. Sometimes he tells me that he feels good and that he is happy. But by the next day, he has a totally different feeling and he brings up the possibility of breaking up with me again. We started courting last year and he told me I was the one he wanted, and wanted us to go to church every Sunday.

He has a lot of female friends and I feel insecure sometimes. I feel uncomfortable these days because he does not include me in his life plans. He is hiding everything from me.

Most times I have to force him to tell me what he’s thinking, and then it becomes an argument. He asked for a break the other day and I gave him, and from that time until now, I can’t stop crying. Pastor, give me your advice please.

S.M.

Dear S.M.,

You are pushing yourself on this guy, and it is time for you to see that he doesn’t love you half as much as you love him. He is constantly asking you to give him a break.

Whenever a man tells his girlfriend he wants a break, he is really saying he wants out of the relationship. Asking you for a break means he wants to end the relationship with you for good. You are grasping at straws. Let him have his break, and don’t go back to him.

Believe me, he has other plans. You say you can’t survive without him, but you can.

Be positive about life. Don’t allow him to fool you. Find ways of occupying your time. Perhaps you should go back to school. I will be praying for you.

Pastor
