Arnett, Cavalier square off in Bell KO today
Apulsating contest is expected today when Arnett Gardens host Cavalier in an all Premier League clash in the third round of the JN/VISA KSAFA Jackie Bell KO competition at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex starting 5 p.m.
Arnett, the defending Red Stripe Premier league champions, hold the psychological edge entering today’s contest, having defeated Cavalier 4-3 in their last meeting.
However, despite that result, Arnett’s coach Jerome Waite said he is anticipating a tough match.
“It is always going to be tough because Cavalier are playing well and they have shown consistency in the Premier League, and so it is now a situation where it is going to be a walkover,” said Waite, while adding that he plans to rest a number of his regular starters for today’s encounter.
JOB DONE
“A lot of key players will be rested but we are hoping that those we use can get the job done,” Waite said.
Cavalier’s technical director Rudolph Speid admitted that Arnett are hard to beat in the Jungle.
“In a Jackie Bell game there can be only one result because you must have a winner and so we have to try to be that team, but we know that Arnett are not an easy team to beat at home,” said Speid.
Cavalier will be depending heavily on the likes of Chevon Marsh, Alex Marshall, Paul Wilson, Nicholas Hamilton, Kaheem Parris and Jamoy Topey to lead their charge to victory.
