REFRESHING VIEW OF STRAWBERRY HILL HOTEL
TUCKED AWAY in cool Blue Mountains, Strawberry Hill offers the ideal getaway from the busy streets of Kingston. Opened since the 1980s, this picturesque luxury boutique is no stranger to Restaurant Week. But after a brief hiatus, they’re back and are looking forward to sweep you off your feet with breathtaking bursts of epic flavour.
Persons who dine at the restaurant can’t resist their charm, escaping the confines of reality to indulge in the culinary fantasy of first-rate food. And while they will explore this decadent detour for their daily dishes, they stay for the incredible view.
Their Jamaican duo of oxtail and curried goat provides the best of both worlds in authentic taste. Generally served with plain rice or rice and peas, it has grown to become a favourite among the visitors who grace their enchanting property. To take you on an even higher culinary cloud nine, the chefs and staff have created the ultimately divine line-up. The potato-wrapped snapper is heaven on earth! Because they ‘seafood’ in a uniquely irresistible light, they decided to take advantage of that, just for the occasion. Also, they are happy to support to the community and Jamaica by sourcing fresh fish from a local business woman.
The taste trifecta of chefs Leroy Vernon, Romeo Ferguson and Kemar Sterling, otherwise called Teino, are considered the stars of the Strawberry Hill show. According to General Manager Diana Marley, they really put their everything into doing what they love. “They’ve been here a long time. They’re not executive chefs but they enjoy cooking. They’re given the tools and ingredients to tantalise in the flavour department and we have collaborated to ensure that the food we share with palates is excellent.” So for this Restaurant Week, journey to the heights of palatable pleasure and savour the refreshing flavour (and view) of Strawberry Hill Hotel.
