Waterhouse continue revival in RSPL
COACH OF Waterhouse Football, Glendon ‘Admiral’ Bailey says the team has been getting better results since the suspension of two senior players.
Waterhouse edged Boys’ Town 1-0 on Red Stripe Premier League match -day 31 at the Barbican Complex in St Andrew yesterday to continue their revival.
Kemar ‘Bushy’ Beckford netted a penalty kick in the 13th minute. Waterhouse ended the game with 10 players Andre McFarlane was issued a red card by FIFA referee Odette Hamilton for foul and insulting language in the 27th minute.
Boys’ Town defender Kevon Wilson fouled McFarlane inside the area and the resulting penalty kick was slotted home by Beckford.
The Boys’ Town team pushed back Waterhouse for the most part but could not score.
“It was our second Premier League win since ‘Rum Rum’ (Romario Campbell) and ‘Barney (Weston Forrest) were suspended. They were bringing bad vibes in the team, especially among the younger players, so we decided to suspend them for the rest of the season,” Bailey said at the game’s end.

“The win today was a big one for us. My objective is to make sure that Waterhouse remain in the Premier League next season. I’m very proud of the team, as they dug deep and defended well with 10 players for most of the game,” he added.
“This is really a big step going forward. We have to make sure that we win the two remaining games to be safe. We know it is not over yet,” Bailey said.
Boys’ Town’s coach Andrew Price says that his team was awful in front of goal.
“I don’t think we applied ourselves in front of goal. We created many chances but failed to score. Waterhouse got one chance and won the game,” Price pointed out.
The win pushed Waterhouse on to 34 points as they moved away from relegation. Boys’ Town remained on 32 points in 10th position ahead of Jamalco (29) and Maverley-Hughenden (28).
