AMCHAM backs Pocket Rocket Foundation

-

THE AMERICAN Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Jamaica will host the first viewing of the Jesse Owens biopic ‘RACE’ in Jamaica, on Monday, April 25, at the Courtleigh Auditorium at 7:30 p.m under the distinguished patronage of and partnership of Olympian Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce.

Commenting on the collaboration, FraserPryce said, “I am excited about AMCHAM’s support for the Pocket Rocket Foundation’s mandate to develop brand Jamaica through education and sports.”

Following an awe-inspiring acceptance speech at the AMCHAM Business and Civic Leadership Awards and Banquet last year in which the Olympian highlighted the odds of being that girl from Waterhouse rising to fame, Fraser-Pryce has since partnered with AMCHAM in this initiative, part proceeds of which will go to her foundation.

Since the foundation’s inception, FraserPryce, through various initiatives, has been creating a lasting impact on the lives of student athletes who would also have had the odds stacked against them.

VISIONARY PARTNERSHIP

CEO of AMCHAM Gail Abrahams expressed her delight in this visionary partnership with Fraser-Pryce and her foundation thus: “AMCHAM is excited to have Ambassador Fraser-Pryce on board with us for an event such as this. It will be just one of many through which we will partner with her foundation to the benefit of education.”

The event is also sponsored by PROVEN Investments Limited, and CEO for PROVEN Wealth Limited, Chorvelle Johnson, said, “It is critical that we continue to work to inspire and develop our youth, and by so doing, invest in Jamaica’s devel- opment. We were only too happy to partner with AMCHAM to raise funding for the Pocket Rocket Foundation. We applaud both the AMCHAM team and Shelly-Ann FraserPryce in this initiative. It is not just about being successful, but helping others to make their dreams a reality,”
