KC, STATHS continue winning ways

Champions Kingston College continued to chart the course towards a title defence as they secured a sixth-consecutiv­e win in Group G of the issa/ Digicel manning Cup, clipping Excelsior high 1-0 at mountain View avenue yesterday.

The win pushed Kingston College to maximum 18 points at the top of the standings, ahead of Excelsior on six points. Pembroke Hall defeated Cedar Grove 1-0.

Meanwhile, former champions St George’s College also maintained pole position in Group F, despite playing out a goalless encounter with thirdplace­d Calabar at Winchester Park.

Also in Group F, Campion College registered their first win of the campaign, clipping second-placed Eltham High 1-0 at the latter’s home ground. Despite the win, Campion College remains rooted at the foot of the standing with three points from five outings.

In Group C, St Andrew Technical High School

(STATHS) whipped Northern Technical 4-0 at Bumper

Hall, while St Catherine High defeated Oberlin High 4-1 at St Catherine.

With the win, STATHS remained perfect with five wins from as many games for maximum 15 points, while St Catherine ensured things remain close on maximum 12 points from four games. Both Northern Technical and Oberlin share the bottom places in the table without a point.
