Airtricity U-17 and U-19 League fixtures announced
THE official groups and fixtures have been announced for the Airtricity U-17 and U-19 League with Kerry competing in both competitions.
Assessments have been progressing very satisfactorily over the past few weeks at soccer headquarters in Tralee with a big response from throughout the county.
The final panel of 20 players are to be announced this week and the management teams will then focus all their attentions in getting the squads prepared for the challengle that lies ahead.
UNDER-17
The teams in Kerry’s Group in under-17 league are Kerry, Bray Wanderers, Cork City, Cobh Ramblers, Galway United, Cabinteely, Shamrock Rovers, Limerick, Waterford, UCD, Wexford, Carlow/ Kilkenny.
In their opening game Kerry are away to Cobh Ramblers on the weekend of Sunday, March 3. Their first home game is against Bray Wanderers on the weekend of March 10.
UNDER-19
The teams in Kerry’s group in the under 19 league are, Kerry, Bray Wanderers, Cobh Ramblers, Cabinteely, Galway United, UCD, Shamrock Rovers, Cork City, Wexford, Limerick, Waterford.
In their opening game Kerry are away to Bray Wanderers on the weekend of March 10. Their first home game in on at the St Patrick’s Day weekend with a big test against Shamrock Rovers.
With Kerry also entering teams at Schoolboy level at U-13 and U-15 level there are exciting times ahead for young players interested in playing the beautiful game.
Now a stepping stone is in place where young players can progress from U-13 level all the way up to U-19 with the possibility that Kerry may have a team in the League of Ireland at senior level in the not too distant future if they keep progressing.
